Now, we have already covered, in detail, the intrinsic simplicity of God. The question that must now be asked is about the extrinsic simplicity of God, i.e., the question of whether God "mingles" with created things. This is the root error of pantheism, i.e., that God is all things, or, at least, that God is the "soul" (i.e., form) of all things. We can obviously recognize that this is not the case, yet, St. Thomas demonstrates it.
Sed Contra: Dionysius says (Div. Nom. ii): There can be no touching Him, i.e., God, nor any other union with Him by mingling part with part.
